Time Off!

For the past three weeks, we've had the privilege of having Eddie and Kathy Miller from Nevada with us. Eddie is a Director of Missions with the Baptist Convention, and they offered to any pastors to do pulpit supply while they were visiting Alaska. At first no churches took him up on the offer, but then it clicked with us that hey, he was coming in June, and we would have a newborn at that point...we'll take him!

There are two types of people...those who leave you feeling drained after they visit and you're glad to have them finally leave, and those who are encouraging and uplifting, and you feel refreshed after the visit is over, though you wish they would have stayed longer. Eddie and Kathy are the latter of the two, and it's been wonderful having them here!
One of the positive things they did for us was to kick us out of town for a weekend, knowing that we wouldn't feel like it had been a break if we stayed. So he found a mission house in Anchorage for us to stay at Sat. night, and we got away for two days.

Two days to just relax together as a family was delightful! We started out Sat. towards Anch, & stopped by some waterfalls for a picnic. The boys had a grand time throwing rocks in while they waited for Anna to nurse!
