Yes, we're still on vacation, and loving it! Techincally we only have 1 more day before reality hits, because on the day after that, we get to enjoy once again the wonderful experience of airplanes and airports for a full twelve hours. Three kids. Too many bags. We'll live.
At any rate, I'm trying hard not to feel stressed in advance about catching up on this blog. Remember my list of everything that I hadn't yet blogged about before vacation? Top it with this...I'm working on nearly 800 pictures of our two week vacation. Yes, you heard me right. Almost 800 pictures. A picture is worth a thousand words, right? So why not go for 800,000?! :)
I will definitely have to pace myself, but I also definitely want to keep a good record of this trip. It's been fantastic. Mark has an amazing family. We've seen most of our dear friends. Of my 4 "best friends in the whole world," 3 of them live nearly 5000 miles from me. And I got to see all three of them! I could go on, but I won't because I don't have the pictures downloaded and sorted and, and, and...
And did I mention that my husband gave me a brand-new camera for my birthday. Hence the 800 pictures.
And the addition of a 4 gig memory card is gift and a curse in and of itself. See, I have always operated with a 256 mb card. Barely a hundred pics, and I had to download. Works great for blogging...just a day or two per file when I download. Now, I'm still shooting, there's still room, and there are a hundred different moments that will all come off at once. I may have troubles with this one.
But, I won't concern myself with that now. The baby is asleep. The boys are camping with grandpa and grandma. And my husband is enjoying a Steelers game on the big-screen tv by himself. I think he needs some company...

Friday Funnies
Okay, so this one wasn't yet scheduled, but I couldn't resist!
Last week, we were invited over for dinner by some good friends. Their oldest is Jakob, whom our kids affectionately call "Tall Jakob," to clear up any name confusion, and because he's at least 6' tall at age 17!
While washing up in the bathroom after dinner, the boys were amazed at the jacuzzi-style tub. They were asking if it was like the hot tub at the house where we lived for a few months last year, and couldn't quite grasp having a large tub like that in the bathroom.
Andrew had that "thinking" expression that we know so well. His final conclusion? "I know why they have a tub like this! It's because Tall Jakob is so tall, he wouldn't fit in a regular bathtub!"
(Jakob, if you're reading this, I hope you don't find this embarrassing)!

Oh where, oh where has that blogger gone?
Nowhere but in circles, that's where!
No kidding...I don't know when I've been more behind in blogging. I have so much to share with you faithful blog readers, who keep showing up here for nothing, who will soon give up on me entirely, I'm sure.
So what's going on?
The fair, some baby tool-time, putting our house up for sale, a new kitchen (I only wish it were mine!), Mark's ordination, Jacob's first dentist appt, some farmer boys hard at work, several domestic developments, contemplating grace, reading great books, facebook follies, boys baking blueberry pie, the first "week" of school, a trip to the Sea Life Center, and packing to head to PA (just for a two-wk. visit, mind you)! There's been some MAJOR stuff mixed in with a bunch of "life as it happens" stuff...and I can't wait to update you on all of it!
So, we leave for PA Sunday night. If I have time after I finish packing, write up goat/dog/house instructions for the housesitter, spend Friday in town for chiropractor appts, spend all day Sat. in Anchorage at a Sunday School leadership seminar, and clean the house so that it's ready to show if need be while we're gone, then I'll do some blogging!
In the meantime, we are greatly looking forward to seeing a bunch of you over the next two weeks!
Oh...and if you're wondering how I manage to faithfully post a "Friday Funny" when I can't get around to anything important on here, I just had a bunch of funny stuff I didn't want to forget one day, and scheduled them to post on Fridays! I might be fresh out of scheduled posts. Not fresh out of funny stuff, though. Not with these kids around. Hang in there...I'll be back. And keep checking back. Cuz' if you don't happen to catch when I start blogging all this stuff, you'll be stuck slogging through it all at once! (As if slogging through it day-by-day weren't bad enough)!

Friday Funnies
According to comic Jay Mohr, one of the great conundrums of our day is why are there luggage stores in airports?
"Who forgets their suitcase? Have you ever seen a guy with an armload of shirts going, 'Hooray! A suitcase!'?"
