Anna's 1st Bath

The boys were so excited to watch Anna take her first bath! We figured the easiest way to let them watch was to just put them in the tub, too...they loved it.
For the most part, Anna did not!

Happy Father's Day, Grandpa Milligan!

Well, running behind on getting cards in the mail, as is usual these days! Wanted to wish Dad Milligan a very happy Father's Day!

Here are the boys with the cards they made for Grandpa Milligan...Andrew's has two rocket ships, and Jacob colored his hand tracing. They'll be in the mail with some pics of Anna, hopefully sometime this week.

Yo-yo

When my mom was playing with Jacob the other day, she picked him up by his ankles and lifted him up and down a few times. He said "Look, I'm a yo-yo!" How do they think of these things? :)

Life with brothers

The two stuffed animals with Anna are toys that Andrew set aside from his collection for Anna months ago! He just thought that she would really like them, and has been talking forever about giving them to Baby Anna. Sure enough, one of the first things he did when we walked in the door last Wednesday was to go get them to give to her!
They still absolutely adore her, asking at least once a day to hold her, and if we forget to have them say goodnight to her, we have to bring her in to their room for goodnight kisses! And of course they think she'll be as interested in Thomas the train as they are (in last pic).

"Welcome Party"

After church on Sunday, the church held a surprise Welcome Party for Anna. They had a cake and punch, and presents for the boys and for Anna! Kindra got the boys Thomas train legos, which they absolutely love, and Li did an amazing pencil drawing of Anna. Mona made a beautiful blanket, and the girls had even chosen gifts for Anna.
It was a wonderful time, and we're so grateful to have such a loving and supportive church family!

The first two days...

We came home from the hospital on Wednesday evening...hoping we would all sleep better in our own beds (more for the boys' sake than ours, knowing we wouldn't sleep much wherever we were). We brought Rebecca home with us for a few days, and we can't imagine what it would have been like without her help, managing loads of laundry, etc!
When Anna's dr. checked her over before discharging us, she discovered that Anna was tongue-tied (the string of tissue under the tongue grows too close to the tip of the tongue, so that the tongue doesn't have full range of motion). That explained why she hadn't been nursing well the first day. So on Thursday we left the boys w/ Rebecca and took Anna to the ENT specialist to have her tongue clipped, which I think was far more traumatic for us than it was for her. Within 10 minutes after the procedure, she was nursing much better, and all has been well!

Anna meets her brothers

Posted by PicasaIt's an understatement to say that the boys love their baby sister! Andrew just could not stop grinning when they came to the hospital, and Jacob couldn't get close enough to her! Jacob asked at least 20 times if she was really baby Anna and verifying that she came out of my tummy already...I guess just making sure that this was the baby Anna he had been waiting for! Andrew commented to Mark, "Baby Anna sure is cute," and said later that "Baby Anna is the best girl in the whole world!" We think so, too!

Anna Joy, take 2

Well, this is a "take two" post...don't know why it didn't work this morning (some people weren't able to view the pics...I'm sure it might have something to do with an overtired operator).

Everyone who has seen Anna in person and has also seen pics from the the night she was born agrees that they hardly look like her at all!

All for now...she's sleeping, so I'm off to bed!

Anna is here!

Anna Joy was born on Tuesday, June 5th, at 9:40 p.m.
She is 7 lbs. 14 oz., and 20 inches long.

She is absolutely beautiful and has lots of dark(ish) blonde hair.
She looks a lot like her older brothers, and cries just like Jacob did as a newborn!

Mark and Wendy are both doing great - thanks to everyone for your prayers! More details (and pictures) to follow!
