Despite being late due to some super-tired kiddos who slept in till 10:30 after being out late at Mark's softball game the night before, we were able to enjoy the craft stations! At the first station, they made "bug houses" and decorated "Bug Journals" in which to record their nature observations.
Then we headed to the science and craft station that this year features "Cow Parsnip," otherwise known as pushki. If you've ever visited Alaska, you've seen this prolific and hardy plant! The kids made wands out of dried pushki umbras...what's not to love about glitter, sequins and ribbons replete with lots of glue?
Then we hit the trail for a bit with some old friends that we hadn't seen in a while, and we all had a terrific time hiking with long-lost best buds! Have I mentioned lately that I love where we live?
