Perhaps I can blame myself for Anna's recent love of "lists." She'll carry around any piece of paper, game instructions, index cards, you name it. "What's that, Anna?" "It's my 'ist!"
At any rate, for lack of a better place to put this (why is it my desk never stays clean?), I'm making this for myself right here.
Things I Want to Get Done Over Christmas Break:
1. Clear desk (again!)
2. Catch up on blogging (July-Dec. I bother since it's our family's memory album).
3. Trim goat hooves
4. Gather milking supplies
5. Clean out Sunday School room
6. Paint Sunday School room w/ girls
7. Organize church library
8. Update sidebars on adoption blog
9. Adjust 2nd semester lesson plan schedule as needed.
10. Write, send, and mail Christmas letters
Me thinks I'm being a tad unrealistic. *sigh* How much can one still dreadfully sick mom with three dreadfully sick children accomplish? Lately it's been an accomplishment just to keep up with laundry...

Aww, sorry to hear that you are sick! We were sick Christmas Eve and it took me several days to bounce back. My house is still a wreck and we never did half the Christmas stuff I had planned because I was sick on the day I had to prepare everything. Hope you all feel better soon!
P.S. - It is never a goal of mine to be caught up w/ laundry--lol! I just can't do it. It does help when the kids get a little older and can do a couple of loads here and there.
I have a few thoughts. First of all, you will never be caught up with laundry unless people in your house are all naked, and I guess that's a personal decision.
But let's try to put time estimates to your list:
1. Clear desk (again!) [2 hours, unless you use the shovel and trash can method, then 15 seconds]
2. Catch up on blogging (July-Dec. I bother since it's our family's memory album). [8 hours]
3. Trim goat hooves [1 hours, assuming you can find the trimmers that the kids were playing with and put somewhere randomly]
4. Gather milking supplies [2 hours]
5. Clean out Sunday School room [2 hours]
6. Paint Sunday School room w/ girls [5 hours, assuming you have all the paint supplies you need and there are no spills and no kids walk through the paint or drop their snack in it]
7. Organize church library [3 hours, 7 hours if you use the Dewey Decimal system properly]
8. Update sidebars on adoption blog [1 hours]
9. Adjust 2nd semester lesson plan schedule as needed. [3 hours]
10. Write, send, and mail Christmas letters [hah!]
I come up with about 27 hours if you were doing it without kids 'helping' - and if you were healthy.
Oh, and since I didn't get a Christmas card by Christmas, I'm already offended, so don't even bother with that. Hmph.
Maybe you ought to just try to do the laundry and read a book and drink some soup. :-)

It teach 0-3 year olds at our church and had to clean my room out this week too!
I hope you have a happy, healthy, and blessed new year! Kim
I second that. Sometimes we just might get sick so that we CAN rest. Otherwise, we might always go at 100 miles per hour non stop. Just rest, deary.
Love ya,
April
