Diligence, as a parent, is always a good trait to practice. Especially tonight.
Jacob has been whizzing around on the ride-on train this evening. Looped around the back of the seat is (was) a shoelace.
Anna was playing in the livingroom, sitting there nicely minding her own business.
The next thing we know, Jacob is putting Anna's head through the shoelace loop. Mark quickly intervened, of course, and firmly instructed Jacob that putting things around people's necks is simply not to be done.
Jacob: "But dad, we're just playing trailer."
Mark: "You can't put this string around her neck to make her a trailer."
Jacob: "But we're just pretending trailer!"
Oh...that makes it so much better.
