Baffled

I love my morning cup of coffee, and one of the difficult things for me about pregnancy and nursing is cutting out the coffee intake. At some point during my pregnancy w/ Anna, even Andrew noticed and then questioned why I wasn't having my coffee anymore. So I launched into an explanation about coffee not being good for babies. He remembered that tidbit, as there were times that I would be drinking decaf (I'm not prejudiced against decaf, it's just not worth the daily bother), and he would say, "But mom, that coffee isn't good for baby Anna!"

Well, as we approach Anna's first birthday, and subsequent weaning, my coffeemaker is no longer in exile. Apparently, all of the discussions about avoiding caffeine for babies and why I was or wasn't drinking coffee and which kind, etc, have all but evaporated from Andrew's memory. I set about enjoying a nice cup of coffee last Monday morning and exulted to Andrew "See Andrew, I'm having coffee again now that Anna doesn't have milk as much anymore!"

Puzzled glance. "Mom, why are you telling me this?"
