Celery Experiment

The computer should be fixed tonight to be able to post new pictures...but I realized that I hadn't posted these from our plants unit!
In teaching about how veins work within a plant to carry water to the leaves, we did the old stand-by celery experiment. The boys loved watching the celery change over the course of the week, and being able to pull apart the celery to see exactly where the veins were-and that they obviously had done their job of getting the colored water to the leaves! I should have taken a photo of the "before and after" pictures they drew in their science logs...very cool to see their comprehension put down on paper!
