So, we took the potluck one step further, and made sure that our menu included some of the food that our 4H members produce!
Here, Andrew and some friends help prepare: rabbit stew! Rabbits compliments of Jordan, who has raised them for show and is now transitioning into meat rabbits. If you've never tried rabbit before, you don't know what you're missing-it's delightful!
We had the largest turnout ever...and everyone also enjoyed an egg-salad dip from chickens that Katelyn raises, and for dessert we brought goat-milk pudding, which everyone raved about!
Andrew brought all three of the goat kids to share with the group, and he decided he really wanted to have his display board ready for the meeting, too, despite my encouragement that he really could wait until Fair time to get the poster together! It was a scramble, and it wasn't quite done, but he had a very thorough presentation ready for the meeting. (And Anna was a very willing and able helper, holding the leash for one of the kids)!
Please pray for Andrew tomorrow morning, as he will be participating in a Presentation Day over in Sol. He's never before done public speaking in front of strangers...and he is the only one going from our club. So all the judges and other participants will be from the other side of the Peninsula. Because he was so eager to do his display board for our club meeting, he was actually ready to do something like this, even though we found out about it kind of last minute...thank you, Lord!
The hardest part for me is that I won't be able to be there for it (I have ladies prayer breakfast Sat. a.m., and then our whole family is heading over tomorrow afternoon for our Valentine's Day party...so Andrew will stay with family after our chiropractor appts. today, and my mom will take him to Presentation Day). But, as Mark reminded me, it will probably be an even better experience for him if neither of us is there...it will be more of a stretch for him. And as Andrew put it, "As long as there's some adult there with me, I'm fine with it."
