Well, the kids (as in mine personally...though I think it's true of all the kids in the community that came!) had a fantastic time at VBS. Even Anna got to attend! (There were many open, welcoming arms for her all the time)!
Some really great things for the boys this VBS...one, was I wasn't their teacher for any portion of it whatsoever-a pleasant change of pace for all of us! Also, they finally were able to be in separate classes, which gave them each some space and freedom they don't often get.
It was soooo cool to see Andrew coming out of his shy preschooler shell. He was totally involved, learned the songs, sang and did the motions with all the other kids (even at the closing program in front of all the parents!), raised to his hand to volunteer answers...all things that he has never really done before. I loved being able to sit back and watch him in action.
For his part, Jacob was a total ham! He's just so exuberant about everything (provided you give him a good half hour to get warmed up). Even he sang the songs and did the motions! His class sang "Jesus Loves Me" for the closing program, and Mark said that from the back of the church you could hear his voice singing! He just soaked up all the love the KY team had to give him...and it was lots!
